GDP-certified warehouse

How do you make a 12,000m2 warehouse that wasn't specifically built for this purpose suitable for storing products under pharmaceutical conditions?
"We were allowed to participate in a tender for the humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders, while we ourselves did not yet have a GDP-certified warehouse. Pharmaceutical logistics was not a new field for us, but the specific warehousing for these types of products was.
To meet the requirements, the ambient temperature throughout the entire building had to be between 15 and 25°C at all times, in both summer and winter, on the ground and just below the roof. Additionally, a large cold room of 12 x 30 meters and 10 meters high was needed inside the warehouse. Inside, the temperature had to be between 2 and 8°C at all times. No deviation is allowed here either.
Because the temperature must be maintained even in the event of a malfunction, redundancy was built in. For the cold room, this was 100%, meaning everything was duplicated. Installation A runs one week, installation B the next, so it's always clear that the backup works.
We had performed temperature mapping throughout the entire warehouse beforehand. By hanging sensors everywhere and measuring them for a week, you know what the hot and cold spots are. We set the alarms based on that. As IJskoud, we manage VCK Logistics' installation completely remotely via our FreezerData system. The customer therefore has no worries about it; we ensure 24/7/365 that everything is correct, works, and meets all requirements. We call this 'Cooling as a Service'.
Successful Validation
When everything was technically ready, the validation process followed.
Result
The validation went smoothly, certification was granted, and since early May 2021, the warehouse has been fully operational.
